SO IS OUR SERVICE

Why not place your assembly in the hands of our in-house specialists – and watch over their shoulder as they go about their work. By prior arrangement you can be present for the overhaul of your transmission and follow it through the various stages of the overhaul process right up to the final test-bed run.

Every individual overhaul of a transmission is completed after the following, firmly defined process and according to the standards of Mercedes-Benz:
  • Handover of the overhauled transmission at the Mercedes-Benz Classic Center in Fellbach
  • Cleaning, stripping and inspection
  • Replacement of all relevant wear parts
  • Renewal of all defective components using genuine Mercedes-Benz parts.
  • Inspection of all functional parts in line with original design guidelines of the company, e.g. shift valve, centrifugal governor etc.
  • Test-bed run: Various functional checks are carried out on the assembly using authentic in-house test rigs. The proper functioning of the transmission is tested in a range of pedal positions, including kick-down, full throttle, idling and transmission braking. In addition, an inspection is carried out for shift quality, noise and parking lock function. At the same time, modulating pressure is restored to the same factory setting as was used when the vehicle was first produced.
  • Once the assembly has successfully passed all functional checks, it is subjected to a pressurised leak test under water.
  • Transmission overhaul is available for the following vehicle series: 107, 129, 100, 108/109, 110, 111/112, 113, 114/115, 116, 123, 124, 126, 140, 201.
  • Handover of overhauled transmission takes place at the Mercedes-Benz Classic Center in Fellbach.
